As far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a writer. No, wait, that's Goodfellas.

I'll start again. Just like everybody else on the planet these days, I write fiction. One day I hope to write really good fiction. If I'm lucky and persistent some of it may get published. I don't have a compelling reason to write. Asking me why I write is a bit like asking anybody why they fuck: it's a genetic compulsion to propagate their genes. I won't be propagating my genes but the idea that long after I have departed this world somebody will read a story I wrote and say, "Hey, this Kane fella' was quite good."
